Another verteran of the music industry, Neil started out managing a small record retail outlet. In 1979 he joined EMI as an Area Sales Manager where he was responsible for all sales and promotional activities throughout South East England.
In 1981, he moved to RCA and played a pivotal role in the signing of the Motown label. Neil also helped to break artists such as Hall & Oates, David Bowie, and Starship.
In 1985, Neil was head-hunted by PolyGram where during the next few years he worked with some of the biggest recording artists in the world including U2, Bon Jovi, Elton John, Metallica, Def Leppard, Dire Straits, Bee Gees, Thin Lizzy, INXS, Texas, Abba, The Rolling Stones, Moody Blues, Roger Waters, The Who, Jimi Hendrix, Robert Plant, Eric Clapton etc. He was Polygram Salesperson of the Year in 1989, 1990 and 1991.
In 1991 Neil was promoted to Head of Sales for PolyGram Commercial Marketing.
In 1999, Neil’s experience of marketing campaigns for new releases, his ability to assess new talent and his relationship and reputation with the major retailers, amongst them Virgin, HMV, Entertainment UK/Woolworth, WH Smith, Tesco, Sainsbury’s and Asda saw him set up a successful Music Consultancy, Right Track Music. One of his many successes has been the “While My Guitar Gently Weeps” compilation album series which has now sold in excess of 500,000 units
In 2004 set up Right Track Distribution Ltd a distribution company through Universal Music. In the past four years they have set up and managed releases for artists such as Icelandic tenor Cortes, Chesney Hawkes , Tony Christie the Cheeky Girls and of course Globus..
